Day 1

International arrival in Kathmandu's Tribhuvan Airport. A representative will pick you up from the airport and transfer you to your hotel in Kathmandu. A visit to our office in Kathmandu will be arranged where we will brief you on the trek and introduce you to your trekking guide. Overnight in Kathmandu.


how to get to Hotel Everest View

Day 2
Early morning flight from Kathmandu (1400m) to Lukla (2840m), flight duration is approximately 35 minutes. After an hour’s rest while the guides and porters prepare for the trip, begin trekking towards Phakding (2610m). The day’s journey will take around 3-4 hours.

Enjoy the charming Sherpa villages, the pine tree forests and the gushing Dudh Koshi river as you walk. Throughout the trek, it is possible to observe the different angles of the famous snow covered mountains from the different locations. Upon reaching Chheplung village (2660m), Mt. Khumbu-yul-Iha (5761m) will rise before you. This is a revered peak by the local Sherpas and is believed to be the home of the God of Khumbu. Mt. Khumbu-yul-Iha provides a constant stream of water to the villages of Khumjung and Khunde, and this water also used to be supplied to Hotel Everest View.

After having lunch at Thado Koshi, an hour’s walk will get you to Ghat village, where you can observe the beautiful mani stone carving work (Buddhist stone carving). Upon reaching Phakding, you can relax after your first day of trekking!

Day 3
Namche bazaar Everest regionToday you will be trekking all the way up to Namche Bazaar (3440m), the journey taking around 6-7 hours. The full day trekking will be rewarded by the majestic forests containing fir trees and rhododendrons (blooms during spring), along with crossing 6 suspension bridges and amazing waterfalls.

After an hour walk from Phakding, you will be able to see the spectacular Thamserku peak (6608m). At Monjo, the trek enters Sagarmatha (Everest) National Park, which covers approximately 1200 square kilometres of the Khumbu region. The park has also been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site Since1979. After 3 hours of walking, lunch will be taken at the base of Jorsalle, from where a climb of 600m awaits to reach Namche Bazaar. The first glimpse of Mt. Everest (8848m), Nuptse (7861m) and Lhotse (8414m) are generally seen upon reaching Toap Hill. From this point, Namche is 2 hours walk. Upon reaching Namche, trekkers can enjoy this vibrant village which features numerous restaurants, bakeries, shops and hotels.

Day 4
Reaching Hotel Everest ViewThe climb from Namche Bazaar to Hotel Everest View (3880m) will take around 2 hours or 3 hours if you take a slight detour and visit the National Park Museum. This museum provides interesting information in regards to the Himalayas, the traditional ways of the Sherpas, and the surrounding flora and fauna. Visitors can also take excellent pictures at the View Point (near the Nepal Army camp) with the alluring snow capped mountains in the background.

The path leading to the hotel is a charming walk across a hill. It may be possible to spot yaks grazing nearby, or a Himalayan Tahr (wild goat) balancing perfectly on the cliffs. You cannot see the hotel until you are almost there as it is hidden behind a ridge, surrounded by tall fir trees. Once you have reached Hotel Everest View, you will be served a refreshing glass of hot lemon with honey, which you can enjoy with the spectacular view of the Everest range.

Day 5
Relax for the day at Hotel Everest View/go on a day trip to nearby attractions such as Khumjung village, visit the school built by Sir Edmund Hillary, or take a challenging but highly rewarding day hike to Khunde Peak (4200m). Please visit our 'Exploration' section for more details.


Day 6
Trek back to Phakding from Hotel Everest View. Trekking time will be around 5-6 hours as the path will be mostly downhill.During the peak seasons in spring and autumn when the helicopter shuttle is available (generally mid-March to mid-May and early October to early December), there is an option to take the helicopter shuttle directly from HEV to Lukla, saving you two days of trekking.

Day 7
Retrace the trail from Phakding to Lukla, trek for approximately 3-4 hours. Overnight in Lukla.


Day 8

Fly back to Kathmandu from Lukla, domestic airport pick up will be arranged to transfer back to your hotel in Kathmandu. Relax for the rest of the day.


Day 9

Full day sight-seeing around the famous UNESCO World Heritage sights in Kathmandu such as the Swayambhunath temple (monkey temple), Boudhanath Stupa and Patan Durbar Square. Overnight in Kathmandu.


Day 10

International Departure, we will arrange the pick from your hotel in Kathmandu and transfer to the international airport. Wishing you a safe journey back home and we hope to see you again soon!
